Michael had it all: wife, kids, friends, house, cars… but as he sat despondent in a far corner of his home, too miserable to enjoy any of it, life seemed irrelevant. By the age of 49, his health problems were out of control. His doctors’ advice amounted to eating low-fat or fat-free foods, exercising, and taking prescription drugs. Although he followed this advice, Michael’s health continued to decline, and his anxiety became more persistent in addition to being overweight, having high blood pressure, high cholesterol, acid reflux, and excruciating headaches.
If this sounds familiar, there are millions like you and him. Guess what? It is NOT entirely your fault; there are extenuating circumstances causing your body to misbehave, even though you’ve been trying to be healthy. It is not entirely your fault that you’re gaining weight and having food cravings, and it is not entirely true that some of these problems are age related. Michael had serious health problems in the past, and now, at the age of 53, he looks and feels better than in his thirties…
